Corsets History;
Both Basques and bustier look same as corset. In 16th century the Corsets came into vogue during Victorian era. For showing the waist small as possible the Victorian women invented this. Firstly the corsets were just undergarments for ladies but with the passage of time it turned to the sexy women costume. Many of the women wear corsets at the girl’s age and some of the women wear it all their lives.
From the earlier eras corsets the Victorian corsets were longer, because the Victorian corsets flaring over the hips and extending little bit down from the waist. Soon the other clothes designers adapted the shape of Victorian corsets because this shape became extremely popular.
Basques History;
Basques mimicked the shape of the corset and they were originally Victorian-era jackets. Basques jackets were extended past the hips and tightly fitted, to accommodate a bustle they are flared out.
